Today was the New Holland Summerfest and BBQ cookoff.  “The Rock and Roll Time Machine” has played this gig for the last 4 years.   With this band we do mostly “oldies” with a little classic rock and some spirituality on the side :)

Cool gig – nice stage to play on, big crowd, motorcycle show and 72 pork & chicken bbq vendors.

This is my best friend, the person who knows me better than anyone else, and still loves me inspite of all my shortcomings.  It’s hard to find words to describe how much you mean to me and how much more in love with you I become every day.

Happy Anniversary sweetheart

Just got back from the Water Street Rescue Mission.  Another Thursday night worship set.

Wow, what fun. I wish we were this good all the time

Back to the full band this time and a rockin set:

  1. Why should the devil have all the good music
  2. Trading my sorrows
  3. Jesus is just alright
  4. Oh happy day
  5. Lord I lift Your name on high
  6. Amazing grace
  7. Tom speaking on Romans 8:26-28

26In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; 27and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

28And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

  8. New Start
  9. He reigns

Thank You God for allowing us this amazing time to lead others and participate in this time of worship.

Also Congrats to Shawn and Von on the adoption of their 3,  yes 3  daughters, that became finalized today.  These girls are sisters and have been a blessing to us all over the past year.

“Chi Chi, Sol and NiNi”  Welcome to the “family”  Love you guys :)

Update:

The case has been adjourned until 11th September at 9:30 am.  There was a clerical error by the court clerk.  The judge did not receive the court papers until 30 seconds before the start of the case and so could not make a reliable decision.  A district judge will try the case in september.

Supporters with Tony outside the courts today. Tony is wearing the coat with ”Jesus Lives” written on it. His back is toward us.

This was in my my email today, from one of the missionaries that our church supports.

On Friday August 15th there will be the trial of Tony Rollins at Birmingham Crown Courts.  His crime is that he read Romans 1 and 1 Corinthians 6:9,10 and gave commentaries during preaching on the streets of Birmingham City centre.  He was charged with spouting homophobic hatred, a crime under existing UK laws.  If convicted he could be sentenced to 6 months in jail and/or         £5000.  His Defense attorney is an evangelical Christian.

Please be VERY AWARE of what is going on in this country with the upcoming elections and with what YOUR government is doing.  These people are elected by YOU.  Their salaries are paid by YOU.  They are working for YOU.  And their decisions affect YOU and YOUR families future.

Got to lead the music again today.  Really feels good to be getting some mic time again.

Prelude – Let the Praises Ring ( loose interpretation  )

  1. Lord I Lift Your Name on High
  2. Step by Step
  3. In Christ Alone
  4. There is a Redeemer

There were a lot of new faces today because of last weeks block party and the bible school presentation.  Praise God for a great response !!!

After years of going back and forth about it, I’ve decided to finally get a Class A C.D.L.  This will enable me to drive tractor trailers and who knows, maybe a log truck in Oregon

Spent the last couple of weeks working on a pool in our back yard.  Nothing fancy, a quick set metal framed 13′ around by  4′ deep.  The pool itself only took about an hour to set up, but it’s been 2 weeks and the landscaping and deck still aren’t quite finished.  Perfect for cooling off and spending some family time but i think it’s gonna put a hurtin’ on my water bill

Stop the presses, gas is now $3.69 a gallon.  Quick, let’s drive somwhere
