Dutch Bros. Iced Kicker with an extra shot. Quite possibly the best beverage on the planet. And when you buy 10 you get one free!!! Life is good
Today was a quiet day, spent some time buying gifts and took the kids to the mall to get stuff that they wanted. It was a good day, only hit the Dutch Bros. stand 3 times
Jerry made an awesome meal of smoked brisket, chicken wrapped in bacon and pork loins. Possibly the best BBQ I’ve ever had.
Taking the “pony” out for a drag
View of Mount Mcloughlin from Deb and Jerry’s. It is now totally hidden because of the smoke from the wildfires in California.

Wow, what an awesome time in worship the last 2 days.
Turns out the worship team for Table Rock Fellowship was short a bass player for this weekend. Thank You Jesus!!!!!!!!
What an amazing group of musicians and singers. I am truly honored to be able to participate in and help to present the worship for 4 services.
Brent is an excellent leader, singer, keyboardist and Tam sings like and angel.
Fo’ sho
The set was:
- All Because of Jesus
- You are Good
- In Your Presence ( an amazing duet between Vanessa and Tam )
- Glory in the Highest
- We Give You Glory
- Praise You in the Storm ( solo by Brent )
What a blessing these folks are and I will always remember this.

Went out on the Rogue River for a fishing trip today. Although we didn’t catch any salmon we still had a great time just relaxing and taking in the beautiful scenery. We spent about 5 hours on the river and within the first 3 minutes on the water the boat got hung up on a rock shelf. Our guide Jim was awesome and did a great job getting us going again and after a quick trip back to shore to check for damage and bail out the water we set out back up the river. Saw some fish coming to the surface and jumping but we decided that they were trout and we weren’t set up to fish for them. but hey, a bad day fishing still beats the best day at work
Derek and Kota, can’t you just feel the excitement
The Rogue looking towards the dam with Table Rock in the background. We were fishing just below the rapids. Absolutely beautiful.
I know the fish are here somewhere
Thanks Debs for setting this trip up. What a great way to spend the morning
Thank you Lord for wonderful friends and such a beautiful place to spend some time with them!!!

We left for Oregon Wednesday night for a much anticipated (and well deserved we think) vacation. It was the first time each of the kids had flown and things went pretty good.
Waiting to board
So far it has been absolutely wonderful. Looking forward to 10 days of relaxation and spiriual refreshment. We arrived in Portland after a six hour flight from Philadelphia and got to the hotel and spent a few hours sleeping and hit the road for our visit with Brent, Tam, and Deb. This place is beautiful, the scenery is amazing and we’ve only seen just a small part of it. Tomorrow we get out on the Rogue River to do some salmon fishing. More updates to follow.

Darla and the kids wanted me to get a new phone for fathers day. This is what I ended up getting. It’s a CECT P168 ( and yes I got the 3 year replacement warranty
)
Going to this phone from the 3 year old Nokia freebie that I was using is pretty sweet. Got a lot of really cool features that I hope to be able to use someday
5 more days till Oregon, maybe Brent can help me figure it out

Victor Wooten “Amazing Grace”
One of the best bass players on the planet. He plays with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones and does solo gigs. If you ever get a chance to see him he is truly amazing.

Been having some major problems with our internet connection since June rolled around. Hours spent on the phone with tech guys who all have the “cure” for this problem.
um, ya right
Two times the tech guys have been to the house, replaced the router, checked and rechecked the cables.
The latest diagnosisis that there is too much signal coming into the house from the amplifier outside on the pole and it causes the router to reset every time the signal spikes. Like 100 times a day
They are supposed to check/repair the problem this weekend and send yet another tech guy on Tuesday to confirm that all is indeed well in the world of wireless internet.
It is amazing to me that only 10 years ago we didn’t even have a computer and how much we have come to depend on internet access just to get through the day.
(and I’m only 60% addicted to blogging)

WOW!!! What an AMAZING show of GOD’S awesome power!!!
Yesterday was the Hope Crusade event in Philadelphia, Pa. Literally everything that could have gone wrong for this event was present up until the event was scheduled to start. For example:
- 2 days before the event the sound company backed out
- the opposition for the band members and their families has been brutal to say the least
- the guy that was supposed to run our sound and bring the marshall guitar amp for me to use didn’t show up
leaving me without an amp to use - the weather was absolutely grim with thunderstorms, rain and a tornado watch
However, God had bigger things in mind !!!
Another sound system was secured the day before the event. The bands all arrived safely (although some of us took the scenic tour of Philly). I was provided with an even BIGGER amp to use
And the weather became absolutely beautiful about the time the first note was played!!!
Although the attendance was smaller than hoped, it was a very enthusiastic crowd and did draw some attention from the neighborhood. The focus was on being set free and taking back Philadelphia from all the violence happening there lately. They are already talking about Hope Crusade 2009 with the idea of taking it to a different “hood” next year!!!
Here are some pics from the event -
100 watt Carvin with 2 412 cabinets ( ya, could definately hear the guitar
) note the water puddles on the stage and storm clouds overhead – 2 hours before the event start time
